Dessa Morris, economic development coordinator for the Walton County Development authority, said thanks to a generous grant from WorkSource NEGA the Be Pro Be Proud Georgia workforce workshop is in Walton County for a two-week tour of all four public high schools and the two Foothills sites. The Foothills sites are located on the Monroe Area High School and Social Circle High School campuses.

Be Pro Be Proud Georgia is a program that is bringing a “new generation of pride, progress, and professionals to Georgia’s skilled workforce.”

The tour began on Monday at MAHS with student ambassador training ending with Facebook Live with Monroe Mayor John Howard. It will finish up at MAHS Wednesday before moving on to SCHS, then Walnut Grove High School before finishing up on March 26 at Loganville High School.

“More than 1,000 local students will participate in the experience promoting 15 of Georgia’s in-demand, skilled careers,” Morris said.
